Another holiday and I can't force myself out of bed to go to the dinner table. A forced comfort between sleep and complacency. I can't complain, but I know I will. The unordinary is a frightful and vengeful beast I can't wrap my hands around, but she has me, oh she has me. Uncle Sam won’t say what he’s seen. But he knows everything better than me.
Ordinary and structure to keep the peace and patriotic mentality. A distant relative says the kids don’t belong because they’re from overseas and can’t speak the American Dream. Whatever that’s supposed to mean.
They’re led to deceive and we’re forced to believe. Built in boxes placed in your sacred organized crime. And their boys in blue up on pedestals while they’re trained in blood to not trust a soul different colored than me. How the fuck am I supposed to believe?
I felt nothing forcing something
Forefathers meaning nothing
Police state bathed in crowdfunded click bait
Built up to defeat you from the start
How’d we come this far?
Guns loaded and hid under sheets. Kids running with their friends in the streets. Flashing lights bringing fear to the state lines. Metal tips and I’m happy you’re gone. So you don’t have to see how your family seems to be. So you don’t have to see what this freedom means to me.
It won’t hold us down
I won’t get out of bed to be tore to my core while you defend a piece of cloth not worth more than the lives it’s destroyed. Burned in blue, soaked in red, white washed melting pot of the defiant states. I can feel it. This country isn’t me or who I want to be and this world doesn’t need your ignorance. I won’t stand as you plea.
I have more family in every run down basement show than I do blood related to me.
